One Hundred Thousand Portraits

Project to photograph 100 individuals possessing a significant interest in their own image, such as a child beauty contestant, a bodybuilder, a dance historian/dancer, etc. Each session lasts exactly three hours and produces 1,000 high-resolution digital photographs.
First
installation version, utilizing one gallery of "conventional" digital
prints and one gallery featured 13,000 images presented via
DVD and television screens, was exhibited at Peggy Phelps Gallery
and East Gallery, Claremont Graduate University, Claremont,
CA. July 29 - August 9, 2002.
